Government Unveils Report on Imran Khan’s Eye Treatment

Islamabad: The government has released an official medical report detailing the eye treatment of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, aiming to address concerns raised about his health while in custody.

According to the report prepared by doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Imran Khan was examined after complaining of reduced vision in his right eye. Medical tests confirmed that he was suffering from a retinal condition, following which specialist treatment was advised.

The report states that Imran Khan was shifted to PIMS for medical care, where he received an injection as part of his treatment. Doctors described the procedure as routine, carried out under standard medical protocols, and completed without complications. He was later returned to Adiala Jail with follow-up instructions.

Government officials maintain that all necessary medical facilities were provided in line with jail rules and healthcare standards. However, members of Imran Khan’s family and PTI leaders have questioned the handling of the treatment and demanded greater transparency regarding his medical condition.

The issue has sparked renewed political debate, with calls for clearer communication and independent verification of medical care provided to high-profile prisoners.
