Iran warns US Navy to stay out of Hormuz amid rising tensions
Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated after Tehran warned the US Navy to avoid entering the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The warning came after US President Donald Trump announced that American forces would assist commercial ships stranded in the waterway due to ongoing regional conflict. Trump described the move as a humanitarian effort aimed at helping vessels safely navigate out of the area, where many have reportedly been stuck for weeks facing shortages of essential supplies.
Iranian military officials, however, strongly rejected the plan, calling any foreign military presence in the strait a provocation. They cautioned that unauthorized entry by US forces would be treated as a hostile act and could trigger a strong response.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes, making the situation particularly sensitive for global markets. Ongoing disruptions have already raised concerns about energy supplies and increased fears of a broader regional crisis.
With both sides maintaining firm positions and no immediate diplomatic breakthrough in sight, the situation in the region remains tense, with the risk of further escalation looming.
