Missiles Hit US Embassy in Baghdad as Trump Warns Iran Over Kharg Island Oil Hub

Missiles struck the Embassy of the United States, Baghdad inside the heavily fortified Green Zone, escalating regional tensions as Donald Trump warned Iran of possible strikes on its key oil facilities on Kharg Island.

Security officials said at least one missile hit a helipad inside the embassy compound, causing damage and triggering emergency security measures. Smoke was seen rising from the area following the attack, though there were no immediate confirmed reports of casualties.

Authorities believe the missiles were launched from outside the heavily guarded diplomatic zone. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the attack, with suspicion falling on Iran-backed militia groups operating in Iraq.

The strike came amid rising tensions between United States and Iran following recent military developments in the region. Trump warned that Washington could target Iran’s critical oil infrastructure on Kharg Island if Tehran continues actions that threaten international shipping and regional stability.

Kharg Island is considered the main hub for Iranian oil exports and plays a central role in the country’s energy sector. Any disruption there could significantly affect global oil supplies.

Security analysts say the latest attack highlights the growing risk of wider conflict in the Middle East, with diplomatic sites, military bases, and vital energy facilities increasingly becoming potential targets.
